Gender Diverse Pride Flag

Gender Diverse: The term gender diverse or, historically, sex and/or gender diverse, may be used in place of, or as well as transgender. It can also be used to describe gender non-conforming or gender variant individuals, or to describe the diversity of gender in general.

-Fy

Subversigender is an antigender that is subversive, anarchistic and anti-establishment. It is a form of rebellion against traditional gender ideals. A subversigender individual feels like they will never conform to a “normal” or “expected” gender, and they prefer to present as shocking as possible. They may view their own gender(s) and gender in general with anger, disgust and contempt.

And you would like a pride flag for Subversigender?

(Sorry if you asked that, it got eaten up if you did)

It sounds similar to Genderpunk, Genderfuck, or Gendermaverick. It does sound different enough, though, especially due to that last sentence about how “They may view their own gender(s) and gender in general with anger, disgust and contempt”.

Sure, we can make a flag for your gender. 🙂

Queer (or LGBT) Anarchism is described as is an anarchist school of thought which advocates anarchism and social revolution as a means of queer liberation and abolition of homophobia, lesbophobia, transmisogyny, biphobia, transphobia, heteronormativity, heterosexism, patriarchy, and the gender binary.

MOGAI Anarchism is similar in concept, but expanded to cover all who fall under the MOGAI acronym.

Pomosexual pride flag!

Pomosexual is basically the “gray” area of the LGBT+ community. It is for the people who feel that the current vocabulary is not quite complex enough to accurately capture their own sense of identity in regards to sexual orientation and attraction. Pomo is short for “postmodern” and was coined in a booked in the late 1990s. Some people have used it to say “screw labels!” but this is the minority.

Pomosexuality does have an official blog as well and is currently crafting their own official website and book. The pomosexuality blog is (pomosexualpride.tumblr.com). The flag was originally designed by @pride-color-schemes, but the specific meaning behind the colors has been “lost” to the internet (as in, can’t be found)

Nonbinaryflux: refers to a group of people that identify as both transgender and non binary. It is similar to agenderflux except instead of fluctuating from the gender they were born with to non binary, they fluctuate between being an ftm / mtf transgender to non binary.

The term has only been used recently by a member of a group chat and they proposed the idea for the flag as well. The flag uses both the non binary flag colours and the trans flag colours.

Shapeshifter Otherkin/Therian Flag

The palette is taken from a chameleon. While the shapeshifter therian/otherkin is controversial, there are those who feel this accurately describe their kin-type. This palette was chosen because chameleons can change the colors of themselves.

*Clarification* Obviously it is impossible to physically shapeshift. The human body does not have the biological cells capable of that. Shapeshifter, here, is used as a KIN IDENTITY and THAT IS IT.

Another mod introduction

Hi everyone!

I use they/them/their pronouns. I consider myself pomosexual (for most common terms, I believe I’m SOMEWHERE on the ace spectrum, but unknown where, specifically). I designed the questioning cupioromantic flag (among quite a few others). I’ve made a large handful of fetish flags on kinkflagsrus as well. I am helping put together RASGKL’s (responsibility and sexuality gender kink legality) forum and pomosexuality’s website and book!

I’m currently a graduate student and hope to go into research on sexology for universities. I’ve been on MANY Q&A type panels, as well as having been interviewed in a newspaper in regards to human sexuality, LGBT+, and the kink/BDSM community! I also work in the adult industry.

Mod Introduction

Hey all! I’m one of the new Mods; you can call me H. I am a homoromantic ace trans man; I am 20; I am the host of a diagnosed DID system, and I have several other diagnosed disorders that I won’t go into description of unless I feel it is necessary.

I’m excited to be a part of this blog and help spread awareness and support!

zoeholland18:

Hello! I am a student doing my undergrad thesis on asexual people in the LGBTQ+ community and I need participants (ages 18-35) that are on the asexual spectrum, and that are out of the closet.

If you are interested in taking part in this research, you can email me (Zoe Rankin) at zrankin@leomail.tamuc.edu.

New Mods Coming Soon!

Hey everyone! Wanted to update you all on the mod situation with another announcement.

I have decided to take on two new mods. They both have experience with graphic design. In fact, a few of the flags I posted within the last few days were ones they made!

They will both be of Member status, so they won’t have the ability to modify the blog itself. They will mostly be posting new pride flags, as well as any other posts relevant to the blog (such as positivity posts). Hopefully this’ll help the blog be more active as we get to fulfilling more flag requests.

It’ll certainly be a new experience for me, as I’m used to running this blog entirely on my own, but I think it’ll be good to have more people around so we can make more pride flags!

They will be accepted as mods within the next few days, and then they’ll be able to make their introductions. So look forward to it! 😀

Panplatonic Pride Flag

Panplatonic: platonic attraction to all genders, or regardless of gender.

Submitted by anonymous

I know this blog is supposed to be as inclusive as possible but can you please stop reblogging from thesagasaurus? They aren’t actually coining any new terms, they’re just coining synonyms of already existing terms which is fine by itself but they’re claiming that those terms are “incorrect” and that the synonyms they coined are “correct.” You’re basically telling people that their identities are “incorrect,” which defeats the point of this blog.

I deeply apologize, that was not my intention. I must not have read their posts well enough before reblogging them. I simply wanted to offer alternative terms for those who wish to use them, but there is absolutely nothing incorrect about the original terms.

I’ll keep the posts, but I have written disclaimers on the relevant posts. Since I’m not currently active in my flag designing, I want to showcase other blogs with pride flags that may have a smaller following.

I apologize again for any distress I may have caused.

Hi! I stumbled across your blog while looking around at pride flags. I run a blog that’s primarily focused on creating new pride flags, but I also like to post or reblog some made by other people that haven’t had a lot of attention brought to them. It’s called Beyond MOGAI Pride Flags. I’d like to reblog some of your stuff to bring more awareness to your blog, but I want to ask if it’s okay with you first as anything I post is likely to bring both positive and (most often) negative attention. :)

thesagasaurus:

All of our stuff is rebloggable!! Share away

Awesome!!! Will do. 😀

maybe instead of taking on a mod and risking your blog (honestly, i feel u. i trust no one on this hell site jskdhfjks) someone could make a kind of.. twin blog? and basically both work together to fulfil requests :0 ?

…I mean, that could also work. I’m pretty awful at taking hints, so are you suggesting that you (or someone you know) are interested in making such a blog? I can’t tell. xD It’s not a bad idea, though.

There isn’t as much risk if I were to just take someone on as a Member, but I’ll keep your idea on the backburner. I’d like to hear what some others think about the mod situation. 🙂 Thank you for your input!

can you make a flag for demilesbian?

If you’re that anon that talked about demilesbian before, I should probably tell you that that’s already a term that means demisexual lesbian. And there’s already a flag for that.

Demi-: An a-spectrum orientation where one does not experience attraction to a person until they have developed an emotional connection to them. There is no guarantee that this attraction will develop after an emotional connection is formed, but it is required in order for attraction to be possible.
Some demi people may choose to further define their orientation in terms of genders they are attracted to (demipanromantic, demihomosexual). Others do not find this necessary, or feel that they have enough experiences of that form of attraction to figure out who they’re attracted to.

Considering Taking on a Mod

Hey guys! Hope you’re all doing okay. Staying safe, staying cool in the summer.

So as the title says, I am thinking about taking on another person to help me run the blog as a mod. I’ve actually been thinking about this ever since this blog became more popular, but I have been hesitant. This is for a couple reasons.

The first is because I made this blog with a specific reason in mind: to design pride flags for identities that other flag blogs would not make them for. As more people started coming to this blog, however, the types of requests I would take on expanded. So now this blog is for all sorts of pride flags. But this also meant that the number of requests I would take on increased, and now I have a large list of requests that would take me a very long time to fulfill.

Despite this, I am still hesitant, mostly for the second reason, which is that I don’t want this blog that I’ve taken so much time to work on to be hijacked. Pride-Flags-For-Us was one of my favorite blogs in its prime. I was always excited to see what new flags were made for these identities I hadn’t heard of before. Watching it get taken over was heartbreaking, and also made me extremely wary when it comes to my own blog. I’m just the kind of person who likes to keep to myself and try and do everything myself as much as possible.

But that’s not really fair to you guys. I know this blog constantly comes to a crawl because I don’t have a lot of time or energy, and it ends up taking me forever to get to all of your asks or to fulfill all of your requests. I only JUST finished answering the last ask that was sitting in my inbox, and I haven’t made a new flag in a long time.

So I want to know what you guys think. Would you prefer if I take on a mod? This blog is for you guys, and my lack of spoons is hindering its capabilities.

If I did have another person on, they would probably only just be a Member for awhile. Their main duties would be to design and post pride flags that are on the request list, so it would be preferable if they had better artistic capabilities than I.

This is already long enough as it is, so leave a comment or reblog with your opinion on the matter. Thanks everyone!

Do you think objectumsexuals and zoosexuals are valid? I know they’re not LGBT, but the people I’ve met who use those labels seem very strong in their labeling and it seems like nobody is willingly to discuss the topic without making crude and cruel jokes. Do you feel like they fit anywhere? (I’m /not/ talking about bestiality or any other physical activities. I’m just talking about the attraction feelings.)

I personally think those who identify as objectum- and definitely valid, and I’d even go so far as to say that I think they also have a place in the LGBTQIAP+/MOGAI/QUILTBAG (whatever you wish to call it) community. They have a lovely pride flag and their attraction doesn’t affect anyone else other than themselves. There are plenty of awesome people who fall under the OS/OR umbrella on Tumblr.

However, as for those that label themselves as zoo-, I don’t have any comment on that. I’m not going to make any cruel jokes, but this isn’t really the blog for them. (I think they already made their own pride flags, anyways)

I’m not anti-split attraction model??? I’m totally fine with it??? I just think that words have meanings???? I’m a trans lesbian soo…

When I was talking about ppl who identify as lesbians but are attracted
more than one gender i wasn’t referring to the split attraction module. i
was talking about lesbians who are attracted to, say, both women and
demigirls

—————————————————————————————————-

Hey, I can definitely see your point of view on this, but
I’m just not the person to say it to. I’m sorry, I’m not trying to
argue. I’m just saying there doesn’t seem to be a consensus on this even amongst lesbians, and since I’m not a lesbian, it’s not my place to take a side on the issue. So for now, this blog will be accepting of those who identify as non-binary lesbians, as this blog is an inclusive one. And I apologize for misunderstanding what you were referring to.

I think there should be a different word for “non binary lesbians” bc the whole point of the word lesbian is a woman exclusively attracted to other women and by including fem-aligned nb ppl you’re erasing lesbians who are actually women who love women and expanding it to include ppl that aren’t lesbians. also if ppl attracted to more than one gender could stop iding as lesbian that would be great. idc if they’re all feminine aligned-pls stop appropriating words.

I’m sorry, but not everyone agrees with you, including other lesbians. There is plenty of support for those who identify as non-binary lesbians or lesbians that use the split-attraction model.

You are certainly allowed to your opinion, but you’d be better off having this debate with other lesbians. I just give advice based off looking at forum posts and blogs that discuss whatever it is I’m looking for. And people who identify as a non-binary lesbian, or lesbians that use the split-attraction model, are welcome here.

I consider myself to be a sapphic nonbinary girl since I am female aligned (lunarian) but I don’t want to be seen as female and I would like to transition to be more masculine, so could I be transmasculine despite being fem-aligned and not male aligned?

This one may be a little tricky, but based on some of the research I’ve done, it looks like you should be able to identify this way.

Transmasculine: a term used to describe transgender people who were assigned female at birth, but identify with masculinity to a greater extent than with femininity. This includes:

  • Trans men
  • Demiguys.
  • Multigender people who’s strongest gender identity is a masculine one
  • Gender fluid people who are masculine most often
  • Any other non-binary gender who views themselves as significantly masculine

Since you’re non-binary, even if you relate more to being female, as long as you were afab but identify more with masculinity instead of femininity, I think you should be able to identify this way. I’ve seen many examples of non-binary lesbians, or other non-binary people who are more aligned with women and consider themselves wlw, who identify as transmasculine.

So yes, I think it would be okay to identify as a transmasculine sapphic female-aligned non-binary girl.

(Sorry for the late reply, btw)

Okay, but this is something I’ve been thinking about ever since CRISPR was developed and I haven’t seen many people discussing this (except perhaps in relation to intersex individuals).

But it’s something that really needs to be discussed, because its a really terrifying thought, especially when you consider the recent political environment.

Please watch this video if you’re not aware that this may someday actually be a thing. Stay vigilant.

Hello! I’m working on a video series about mogai identities and one of the “episodes” I planned on making would be about pronouns! I’ve done a lot a research about neopronouns and their history as well as singular they, but I literally couldn’t find anything about nounself pronouns. Would you know anything about when nounself pronouns started, where they started, who started using them, or what we’re the “first” nounself pronouns? Any help is good enough thank you so much!

ask-pride-color-schemes:

I was excited to research this, so here’s what I can find! For the sake of completeness (for anyone else reading), the definition of a nounself pronoun is any pronoun set created based on an existing noun, but adjectives and verbs may also be used.

It appears that the first neopronoun that could be called a nounself pronoun is hu/hum/hus/huself, also called “humanist pronouns”. (You can also consider thon/thonself, which come from the phrase “that one”, but both of the words “that” and “one” are pronouns already and so “thon” may not be defined as a nounself pronoun.) Their creation is attributed to Sasha Newborn in 1982, and they are obviously based on the noun “human”. More information on this pronoun set can be found at hupronoun.org, a site run by Jake Shivery.

The majority of the nounself pronouns used within the non-binary community today originate from the time period between late 2013 to the present, as new pronouns are still created. According to the nonbinary.org wiki page “Pronouns” (mirror here):

Starting in early 2014, or perhaps late 2013, a community of non-binary gender people on the social blogging site Tumblr.com came up with the idea of “nounself pronouns”.[…] By adapting any noun of one’s choosing into a pronoun, one can create a wide variety of very personal and descriptive pronouns. The sets can be themed around concepts that have nothing to do with gender, such as nature, technology, or abstract concepts. Some of the earliest sets of nounself pronouns, which might actually be from earlier than 2014, are the fairy themed set “fae, fae, faer, faers, faeself”, and the bunny themed set “bun, bun, buns, buns, bunself”. During 2014, the community created about a hundred sets of such pronouns, and many were adopted as the pronouns of particular non-binary people…

That page lists the origins of many specific nounself pronouns, which can also be found on this page from askanonbinary (archive link). Here, I will explain a few of the older and more popular ones.

Fae/faer are attributed to Tumblr user shadaras in 2014, who states (archive link):

Why did I choose fae/[faer] as my pronouns?

Because I am fae. I am described as such by people who don’t know me – fae and feline and not-exactly-human. I do identify as faen, and in some ways angel as well, and fae and angel are the goals of my presentation. My choice of fae as a pronoun reflects this.[…]

To address the point about fae as binary or not – it depends on your source material.
My personal view on this is that fae and fae creatures as stand outside the binary. They probably have some form of gender, but it’s most definitely not our human binary. Angels, on the other hand, are genderless. They have no sex and they have no gender. Together, fae and angels are the two sides of androgyny that are possible, and kind of form a secondary arc around the male/female binary: that of gendered/genderless.

…so in some ways, I’m using fae as a giant ‘fuck you’ to the gender binary and a refusal of much of the American culture surrounding gender. My gender is yes. Except when it’s no. Either way, it’s not male or female and using a pronoun that is very associated with creatures that stand outside humankind is, for me at least, a very good way to remind people of this constantly.

Bun/bunself and star/starself coined by user bonnibelbubblegum, but I cannot find the original post.

Dae/daem were coined by whelmedsuperkid (archive link), alongside ecto, necro, spiri, and haun pronouns, in February of 2014.

I couldn’t find the origin of kit/kits, but if anyone has it, let us know! Also let us know of anything I missed!

Dude this is super helpful thank you so much!

!!

Awesome! Really interesting stuff.

Hello! I’m doing research about different lgbt+/MOGAI identities for a video series I’m planning. I have plenty of information on neopronouns and their history, but I can’t find much for nounself pronouns. Would you know anything about the origin? I’ve been trying to find even a year or a coiner for a while, but all I found was complaints about nounself pronouns. Thank you for any help!

Hi! That’s really awesome, I love love love LGBTQIAP+/MOGAI educational videos!

Unfortunately, I would be no help here. So I hope you don’t mind if I post this for my followers, as it’s possible someone out there who sees this may know something.

If anyone has any information on the origin of nounself pronouns, please let this person know!

Please explain how a mental illness becomes a gender or sexuality. I get that an illness strongly effects a person’s life in negative ways (ie making it an illness), but shouldn’t the focus be on recovery?

For some, being mentally ill/neurodivergent can affect one’s gender or orientation in ways that would not affect people that are neurotypical. And it’s really not all that complicated, as someone’s neurotype affects how their brain works and how they perceive themselves. Their are different neurogender/neuroqueer identities for different neurotypes, depending on how one specifically affects someone. And it’s not really my, or anyone’s, place to say what neuroatypical people should focus on; even if you yourself are neuroatypical, it’s really all down to the individual. For some it’s recovery, but for others it’s acceptance, or something else entirely.

Hoping I understood your reply correct, Feminamoric is a term for any enby who is attracted to women and women solely, not including woman aligned enbies. Viramoric is the same, but for those who are attracted only to men. So unaligned, woman, male, or enby aligned enbies can use these terms

No no, I get that. I was saying that feminamoric and viramoric are both terms for any non-binary person, while the term that other anon suggested (uomo-) were specifically for non-aligned/gender neutral non-binary people.

I personally think it sounds like a useful term because the only orientations related to neutral genders have to do with another person’s attraction to them. (Neu-: Feeling attraction to people who are genderless, and Nin-: Feeling attraction to neutral/androgynous identifying people.)

Does that make sense?

can i request a flag for uomosexual(its okay if not tho owo)? its a new sexuality i coined, for nb people with no gender alignment who are only into men. the uomo- prefix means man in italian

That sounds like a really useful term, actually! So would the equivalent for nb people with no gender alignment who are only into women be donnasexual?

I wonder what it could be for nonbinary people with no gender alignment who are only attracted to other nonbinary people with no gender alignment…

Sorry, went on a tangent there. xD What would you like the flag to look like?

Might be a weird one but could you make a flag for a person who used to be a lesbian before a traumatic event turned them into asexual/apothisexual? I personally don’t feel like leaving out either of these things even if (definitely) lesbianism is in the past

Could you maybe specify what you mean? Are you like looking for a lesbian/apothisexual combo flag? Or something like the black line and X from the apothisexual flag transferred onto the lesbian flag? Sorry, just kinda confused on what you’re asking for. 🙂

What’s the difference between -kin and -hearted? Like if there was someone who was deerkin and then someone who was deerhearted. What’s the difference?

So being otherhearted means that you have a strong fundamental connection with something, as opposed to identifying AS that something (which is otherkin).

So if you’re deerhearted, that means you have a strong spiritual connection to deer, but you don’t identify as a deer. But you would identify as a deer if you are deerkin.

Hopefully that makes sense!

Genderfluid but only likes females no matter which gender they feel at the moment?? ((Oops sorry if I wasn’t specific))

No problem, that should be specific enough! (I’ll just post the flags related to sexual orientation, but they could be used for orientation in general)

Fem- / Gyne- / Gyno- / Femme-: attraction to women or feminine genders. Derived from the Greek word gyno which means “woman”, the term gyne- can be useful when describing the orientation of an individual with a non-binary gender identity.

Woma- / Woman-: Attraction to women. Useful for Nonbinary people who don’t want to use gay or straight.

Autism flag? NOT BLUE.

Absolutely not blue!

I actually made a couple that had been requested of me already!

If you don’t like rainbow, someone else made one with red!

Wow, that was quite the spam hail. Sorry about that, everyone.

I decided to clear out my inbox and just put all the requests on an actual, literal list. You can look at it here.
