Propegender Flag

imoga-pride:

Propegender: Varying between very feminine boy, very masculine girl and/or a gray area inbetween. Etymology from the Latin prope, which means ‘near’ or ‘not very far’, as the gender rarely strays too far towards either binary.

Some people may interpret it as genderfluid between tomboy/mascgirl, femboy and/or graygender. See also: transexpressive, versandrogyne.

Variant:
not completely conforming to the societal and cultural ideals or roles
of gender, sex, orientation, sexuality, relationships, expression, and other related
forms of self-identification. Not being accepted as a member of
conformant society due to one’s identity differing from the one assigned
to and expected of them. To specify certain subcommunities, terms like gender variant, attractional variant, and relational variant can be used.

“Conformant” is the antonym- meaning not
variant-  because cishetalloperisexmonoam(screaming for 11
minutes) is too long and I
don’t want to keep shortening it to cis/het because some variants are
both cis
and het, but variant in another way like gender nonconformity, intersexness, or
non-monoamory.

I discuss this term more in this post.

The flag stripe/color meanings are of particular importance because they’re meant to represent certain variant sub-communities and I want to make sure it covers everything to clarify what identities are variant. Colors are chosen based on their use in pride flags/symbols and their association with certain identities. I also wanted the flag to evoke other variant flags like genderqueer when you examine it closely. might edit this if I forgot something. To be fair, there is a lot to cover. Just know that these aren’t complete lists… because that would be a list of every term ever. I’m sticking to mostly broad terminology because of that.

From top center to bottom corners:

Lilac: represents all of the variant community and inclusionism. Lilac is the color representing variance.

Purple: represents (gender)queer, gender/pronoun nonconforming, cross-aligned, androgynous/androgyne, ace-spectrum, altersex, wlw, transgenital, genderfluid, amplusian, mspec/pluralian, (bi/pan)curious, genderfuck, strayt, kingender, varioriented, gender creative, transexpressive, and ficto- variants.

Blue: represents non-monoamorous, non-monogamous, alterous, objectum, conceptum, gay (all kinds of gay), gai, aplatonic, lesbian, auto-, paro-, multigender, enbian, fluitic, flex-, and (responsible/consensual) kinky-identified variants, as well as variants in nontraditional relationships or with variant relationship orientations/preferences.

Yellow: represents neutral, intersex,  abinary, xenine/xin/xenogender, aesthetigender, ambident, iso, ultric, pangender, anthrotherio-, nblnb, pulsaric, aporagender, nontrinary, pandrogynous/pandrogyne, limno-, maverique, and queerplatonic variants.

Green: represents agender, neutrois, aro-spectrum, angenital, orientationgender, agorarelational (open relationship), mlm, medusan/alloda-, aliagender/other gender, oriented aroace, antigender, neurogender, synesgender, heartedgender, and abro- variants.

Black: represents aspec, anattractional, omnia-, repulsed/ARC, nonpronominal/pronounless, unaligned, nonamorous, apothigender, apothibinary, leptrois-spectrum, negabinary, sexless, neither gender, gendervoid, nullgender, anonbinary, and genderpunk variants.

Gray: represents gray-aspec, uingender, graygender, questioning, neuro-oriented, genderflux, flexible, amplusic, autogamous, gamyflux, celibate-oriented, utrinque, demigender, pre-, and nongender variants.

The shape is to evoke queer chevrons and the letter v.

Exclusionists/REGs, truscum/transmeds, gatekeepers/identity policers, anti-mogai/neolabel/neopronoun and anyone who would exclude any variant identity can’t use the flag, interact with me or this post, or participate in the variant community. We’re inherently inclusionist and so is the flag and term.

Malificae

A gender that is related to witchcraft. It is up for the user’s interpretation, but it may feel magical, ‘witchy’, have connections to spells, sigils, rituals and other types of magic, or feel related to a specific path. For example, a cottage witch might experience it as being homely, cozy and related to nature, while a sea witch may experience it as simultaneously harsh and gentle, vast, and liquid. These are only examples – Malificae is a personalised gender that means something different for everyone. You do not have to practice witchcraft to be this gender. It does not have a suffix that can be replaced with a gender (e.g. it can’t be used as malificaexoy), but if paired with another gender, it may look like this: “I’m a xoy and malificae.” “They’re a malificae lykh, but they’re also juxera.” “Kit is a malificae girl.” However, it can be used as Malificaefluid and Malificaeflux, as well as Demimalificae, etc.

Sorry to bother you, but is there a name for someone who’s gender is influenced by the phase of the moon? I always feel more feminine during Full-moons, more masculine during New-moons, and genderless/demi-gender during the other phases. Is this normal?

There’s a couple that might fit!

Faegender: A gender that changes with the seasons, equinoxes, and moon phases.

Selenogender, Monagender, Lunagender, or Monegender: A subset of genderfluid in which your perception of your gender, or even the foundation of your gender itself, shifts in a consistent way in many ways over a period of days, weeks, months, or even years, especially with long or short periods of various xenogender based feelings and perceptions. like the phases of the moon, your gender experiences similarly phases over time, in a same or similar order, consistently.

@beyond-mogai-pride-flags Help me out here what’s the word for ml(?) (man-loving-literally ever gender person)

Hmm if you’re referring to someone who is mlm, mlw, and mlnb all at the same, that would be Marblic or Astronic.

-Fy

(If you mean something like mla (men-loving-all), I don’t think using a would work well as that tends to stand for abinary. And its a writing format! So if you’re looking for a catch-all term, I’d probably use something else.)

Well yeah but what about the others? MLA, MLX, MLI…You get what I mean? Is there terms for something that covers ALL of them at once?

No, yeah, I get what you mean. I just don’t have the clearest answer on that one. I don’t know of any term like that at the moment. The only one that is similar in concept is for enbies, as some use the term NBLA for nonbinary-loving-all. Of course, there are some problems with this as “a” can also be used to mean loving agender. “X” also has a similar problem, as it often denotes nonbinary (”other”) gender identities, or for xenogender identities. “I” is usually for intersex, or maybe intergender.

As you can see, it can get a bit complicated? So if you’re coming up for a term for yourself, I’d say it’s really up to you. Maybe the community should make some way to distinguish between “agender” and “all” or something like that?

So, yeah, sorry. I don’t have a clear answer for you. If someone else has some input on this, you’re welcome to comment.

the pelu- flag you rb from mogaiheaven is a stolen flag he took from mogai-edits-icons and changed the name because “op was bad” , and it was originally plusho-. just in case you didn’t know. (maybe you could rb the original one?).

Uhhhh it looks like @mogaiheaven posted the flag first, so I’m assuming they felt uncomfortable with mogai-edits-icons and so re-coined the term and also actually made the flag. So it doesn’t look like they stole the flag, just re-coined the term. Which… some identities have multiple names for them. I personally don’t have a problem with Plusho-, since it was based off of the official name of the related paraphilia, but mogai-edits-icons does have some uncomfortable content so I can understand the re-coining.

Is there a term for feeling romantic attraction, but the second someone likes me back I don’t feel anything anymore?? I feel kinda lost rn

That sounds like you may be Akoiromantic (otherwise known as Lithromantic), which is defined as: Feeling attraction, but having no desire to have interactions or have feelings reciprocated, or a person who feels a particular kind of attraction, which fades if it is reciprocated or if they enter a relationship with the person they are attracted to.

Hope that’s what you’re looking for!

(Same anon from before. I coined these terms for genders based on love. I have some etymology too if you want me too add it, but I couldn’t meet the character limit.) Amogender- a gender defined by the user’s affection (applying to any form or relationship) for another person; Not defined by the other person themself or their gender, only the user’s love for them. hello.y gender identity seems to switch between these two states: feminine guy, masculine girl. there is no blending or in-between states. ive tried the label bigender, but it seems wrong in that it doest tell people that my -inity is the opposite of my gender. i frequently call myself androgynous (in the gender sense, not the presentation sense) but it doesnt let me express when im feeling a particular state. any tips?

So it sounds like you are some sort of Genderfluid, as your gender switches. This could be in combination with Transexpressive, which is a fluid gender expression.

Another term you may find useful is Propegender. This is described as “varying between very feminine boy, very masculine girl, and/or grey area in-between.”

If that’s not what you’re looking for, you’re welcome to coin something!

I have BPD and I often can’t pin down my gender or attraction– I can’t describe *how* I feel, even to myself, without knowing whether it’s truth or a lie I want to believe or a lie I’m punishing myself with.

No worries, it can be pretty difficult to discern due to being neurodivergent. I have a couple terms that you may find useful. 🙂

Border-: An orientation in which a person with BPD cannot tell the difference between types of attraction due to symptoms of their disorder.

Bordergender (or Borderfluid): A fluctuating gender experienced exclusively by people with BPD. A gender identity lacking a firm grasp on one’s identity, while still experiencing gender, to varying degrees, but having trouble pinning it down to just one label or identity. Having the sense of grasping at labels as much as possible to describe a gender one keeps questioning because one keeps second guessing one’s sense of self and, consequentially, one’s sense of gender.

Exagender: A gender for use by people with BPD. It is influenced or affected by the approval of others. It is usually affected or altered by splitting, which can result in a gendered feeling that is in contrast with the person’s ‘actual’ experience of gender.

Hope that helps!

[IMAGE DESCRIPTION: Two digitally rendered pride flags. They each have three stripes. The middle stripe is half the size of the top and bottom stripes. The first flag has the following colors, from top to bottom: pastel orange, white, lavender. The second flag has mint, white, and the same lavender from the first flag. End description.]

I made flags for the attraction terms recently coined by @wedontcareaboutyourbinary!

First flag (left) is for trixensexual (trixenromantic, trixenamoric, etc): A person who is attracted exclusively to women and non-binary people.
Color meanings:
     – Orange: blend of traditional pink for women and yellow for non-binary folks
     – White: expansiveness of the multi-attraction spectrum
     – Lavender: queerness and non-normativity

Second flag (right) is for torensexual (torenromantic, torenamoric, etc): A person who is attracted exclusively to men and non-binary people.

Color meanings:
    – Mint: blend of traditional blue for men and yellow for non-binary folks
    – White: expansiveness of the multi-attraction spectrum
    – Lavender: queerness and non-normativity

Note: these attraction terms are not specifically for use by nonbinary people. They can be used by anybody regardless of gender. They also apply regardless of what exact sort of nonbinary people you are/aren’t attracted to. See the original post for more information.

Please do not start discourse on this post, and do not “repurpose” these flags, thank you!

You forgot regisgender!

How dare you correctly call me out 😛

Regisgender, Kinggender, or Queengender: A lofty, grandiose gender; The individual with this gender feels that their identity feels majestic, imposing and grand. Often involves a gender expression that is bold, commanding and confident. May openly pursue reverence of their identity from others and/or be very vocal about their identity to others, with pride.

Thanks!

  • Amantesexual: only feeling sexual attraction towards someone youre in love with/not feeling sexual attraction until you’re in love with someone.
  • Sequencesexual: Only experiencing sexual attraction to someone after experiencing romantic attraction to that person.
  • Perioriented: A person whose romantic and sexual orientations ‘match’ (ex: biromantic bisexual, aromantic asexual).

You can say you are also nanoromantic semisexual to specify the ratio, and uniflexible romantically.

-Ap

These ones were already coined:

  • Mesogender: between male/female but not distinct from both.
  • Binaryfluid: fluctuating binary genders of male and female
  • Femache: simultaneous male-female gender.
  • Midgender: in the middle of female and male binary genders. Similar to intergender but not intersex exclusive.
  • Ambonec: male, female and neither at once.
  • Possigender: when you can’t determine whether your gender is fluid or not.
  • Transexpression: gender expression changes while their gender stays static.
  • Versandrogyny: an androgyne whose amount of femininity and masculinity fluctuates (a versandrogyne may go between being femandrogyne and being mascandrogyne, additionally neutrandrogyne). See also androgyneflux.

You can go with a new lexical junction, using possi/neu-mesogender/fluid (possi/neu-meso/fluid), neu-possi/midgender/fluid (possi/neu-mid/fluid), possi/neu-femache/fluid (neu-femacheflux, versafemache, neu-femacheflexible) or possi/ambonec/fluid (versambonec), for example.

Hello is there a masculine gender tied to a feeling of royalty? I’ve searched your blog and was excited to find kingender but it came to me a little too late for someone of my status that this was in reference to other kin not kings. My pronouns are (masculine or n-b pronouns) majesty/(masculine or n-b pronouns) majesties/ majestieself. Or simply 🤴/👑 pronouns.

The closest I know of would be

Leogender/Reigngender: A gender that is closely related to strength and regality; a royal gender.

Edit: @pastelmemer just reminded me about Princegender!

Princegender: A soft but grandiose gender; The individual with this gender feels that their identity feels majestic, imposing and grand, but also prim, cute and ethereal. Often involves a gender expression that is soft and feminine, but commanding and confident. May openly pursue reverence of their identity from others and/or be very vocal about their identity to others, with pride.

Demifluid Nonbinary + Demifluid Bigender Pride Flags

Demifluid Nonbinary – feeling that your gender is partially fluid but another part, that is nonbinary, is static.

Demifluid Bigender – feeling that your gender is partially fluid but another part, that is bigender, is static.

__________

I couldn’t find any demifluid flags for specifically demifluid nonbinary or demifluid bigender people, so I went ahead and made them myself. I personally identify as demifluid bigender, as part of my gender fluctuates while another that is static feels like a combination of male and female.

Awesome! Thanks so much for the submission! 😀

do you have a identity or flag for someone who is a lesbian, or like. otherwise feels romantic attraction, but is only comfortable w alterous relationships?? thank u!

I’ve found a couple options that might work for you!

Philto-: an orientation in which a person can feel attraction and their associated acts, but does not desire relationships associated with that form of attraction and may quickly get bored of them.

There’s also an identity called “Platonifocal”, where an individual puts more emphasis on their platonic relationships compared to their sexual and/or romantic relationships. Perhaps something like “Altefocal” could be useful for those that focus on their alterous relationships?

Hi, I was wondering if there’s a more specific term for my romantic orientation? I’m a guy, and I’m definitely homosexual, but I’m biromantic, and I’m demiromantic towards girls, but not towards guys. So I like men sexually and romantically (and I don’t have to be know them at all), and I experience romantic attraction to girls, but only after an emotional bond has been formed. Maybe anisoromantic?

That’s a possibility! You may also find use with the term Paroromantic.

Paro-: The label describes a multisexual orientation in which you experience different methods of attraction to the genders you are attracted to (ex. being demiromantic for one gender but not another).

Hope that’s what you were looking for!

This isn’t to troll or anything, I’m being actually genuine. But I have a strong connection to trees, bushes, and like any plant with foliage. And I wanted to know if there was a gender that strongly identifies with plants like that. Thank you so much!

Let’s see, there is…

Ecogender: A gender that is defined by one’s relationship to their local ecology as a human rather than to humans’ interactions with each other.

Earthgender: A gender identity that is directly affected, tied to, or influenced by the earth or nature. or; a gender identity similar to/the same as that of some form of earth deity.

Ouygender: A gender that is related to trees and wood.

Genderale: A gender mainly associated with plants, herbs, and liquids.
This term is exclusive to plantkin, foodkin, or related kintype usage.

Hope that helps!

(specifically LGBT) past trolls/antis who have realized or begun to realize that they’re incorrect or hurting people- I honestly think it’s important for you to know that if you come clean and choose to be respectful to other members of the community, we will accept you. Even if you don’t use microlabels, we will accept you. You don’t have to bend to the will of cis, het, etc people for you to have your identity and worth respected and recognized. LGBT people are part of the MOGAI communuty.

😀

I’m (at least part of the time) julietian and I wanted to suggest to anyone who would be willing to maybe redesign the flag? All the pinks/reds kind of blend together and are hard to distinguish and a little eye straining

susurrouspenumbra:

beyond-mogai-pride-flags:

That’s fair! If anyone would be willing to come up with a different, less eye strain-y design, that’d be great!

I tried making one that didn’t Blend in as much but I’m not sure if there’s still eye strain

It also unfortunately came out as a square

It’s not that good as it’s using the same colors,, but I tried!

Any flags are appreciated! 😀

(answer publicly or privately) heyo! a while back i believe i submitted a troll/joke pride flag under the screen name “clayvier”, with the intention of making fun of MOGAI genders/sexualities. i must apologise for that. although my intention was malicious at the time that i sent it, this was only because i lacked full understanding of the topic of MOGAI genders. i believe you blocked my main blog (pollyclay), as a result. you do not have to unblock it, i just would like to apologise. thank you!

To answer your question, there are a few possibilities.

Cinnab: refers to nonbinary people who present somewhere in between traditionally masc + andro.

You could also try neutromasculine/neumasculine, or mascneutral.

Inbox Announcement

Hey all! Hope you’re doing okay. I’m still pretty busy myself, but it has slowed down some this month.

So in order to try and start breathing a little life back into BMPF, I’m gonna turn asks back on. Please be aware that requests will still be closed for now! If you take a glance at our request list, you’ll see that we still have quite a few that we haven’t gotten to yet. And it might be awhile before we do.

However, I would like to be able to allow our followers to ask us identity-related questions again. I will, of course, try my best to answer what I can, when I can. Thankfully, mod AP is also available and if I’m not able to answer some questions, I’ll pass them onto them.

Thanks, as always, for your patience. 😀

Edit: I also cleared out the inbox, so if we didn’t get to your question you’re welcome to resend it!

Nixpangi Pride Flag

image

Nixpangi (nixic pangender androgyny): an identity comprised of both genderless and partial pandrogynous or androgyne pan-aligned aspects. These aspects can be experienced either simultaneously, fluidly, or through fluctuations. Intended for those who feel both connected and detached from pandrogyny / pangender androgyny and for those who have difficulty distinguishing their alignment from their gender.

Pandrogyne in this case refers to androgynous pangender-ness, but this word was firstly used by Genesis P-Orridge. Pangi can be also used as pangender alone itself, but remember it’s just aligned aspects of genderlessness (idealized by @cinnabs). Nix comes from German word for none, an from andro, gi from gyne/gine and pan- means all/every deriving from παν/Πάν.

Odiumsexuality

I recently coined a term for a sexual orientation I feel I experience. Odiumsexuality. I’ve taken “odium” from Latin for “hate,” and I define this orientation as the involuntary attraction towards people you hate.

The pride flag I designed for it consists of black to represent the potential danger and darkness of dealing with these feelings, red to represent the hatred as well as the anger towards the person you hate and yourself for having such feelings, and hot pink to represent the exciting feeling of hooking up with someone you hate as well as the strong emotional nature of this orientation.

Nice! Thanks for the submission!

Hi there! I made a more simplified version of the Kynigender flag because the original is really complex and hard to keep every detail.

Also, did the original have meanings for each colour? I’d love to hear what they mean if so!
I came up with meanings of my own since idk the original, and I went off what other neurogender flags with similar colours mean

Black – The presence of a gender that’s unable to be pinpointed for certain
White – Representing all possible genders
Greens – The different levels of intensity from anxiety attacks when trying to find your gender, from mild stress to unbearable

I hope this is ok though!

I think it looks good! Thanks for the submission!

I’ve been searching for the right terms to describe my gender alignment, but I haven’t been able to find anything except the term “melle,” which I feel is a little too specific. So I decided I’d just coin my own term. Unfortunately, since I’m not that creative, I don’t really have a name for it just yet, but for right now, I call it being Neufem Lunarian-Aligned.

Definition: a gender alignment which is feminine in nature, but does not have any ties to femaleness or womanhood whatsoever. What it means to have a FIN alignment is basically that, while your gender itself may or may not be considered “feminine,” your experiences and understanding of your own gender are shared with or mirror those who would define themselves as feminine (a commonality with anyone who is feminine, basically).
The use of “neufem” is meant to signify femininity irrespective of gender identity (femininity as it exists outside of genderedness). The use of the term lunarian signifies that it is a subcategory of lunarian alignment, which some define as being either woman-aligned or feminine-aligned (this term being specific to the latter). A person whose gender alignment is feminine may or may not present/express femininely. The only criteria is that their alignment is experienced similarly to the way inherently feminine individuals experience their femininity.

The flag is a combination of the Femineutral flag and one of the Lunarian flags.
If this term seems redundant because of the existence of another term with a similar premise, please let me know. If you have a better name for this term other than Neufem Lunarian, please let me know. All feedback is appreciated. Thank you.

Awesome, thanks for the submission!

Is there a term for being sexually/Romantically attracted to masculinity, rather than a gender identity? Like, I find myself being exclusively attracted to masculine people

Closest would be Minsexual, I believe.

Anonymous Submission

Simivoid: Void, but not in the sense of nothing. Being there where you generally feel void but there are other genders in there (like how space is more void than stars but there are stars in there) and when you get closer (like you’re flying around and you get closer to a star) you feel that gender more intensely and sometimes you can get stuck orbiting one for a while but eventually it’ll move on. Sometimes you’ll be near two or more “stars” (genders) and feel void +x gender +y gender, maybe one closer or maybe not. Sometimes a “star” will disappear and sometimes more will appear, it all depends. It doesn’t have to be connected to space/ stars just the void, the stars were just a way to generally describe it. Simivoid (not semivoid), is from Latin “assimilatus” meaning like, similar, made similar, imitated, or feigned. Kind of like being fluid between versions of gendervoid eg. voidgirl, voidboy, etc. but voidfluid already means something else, and the amount of void can fluctuate. Not exactly sure about the flag for this one yet..?

I have a proposal for a pair of pronoun sets

So, most neopronouns, as I understand it, are considered gender neutral. As in most of them are not associated with any one gender, form of expression, or alignment (again, speaking in a general sense). So, for that reason, I’d like to propose these two sets of pronouns for the specific use of eclipsian nonbinaries, androgynous nonbinaries, or anyone who is both male/masculine-aligned as well as female/feminine aligned. They are, in effect, a combination of he and she pronouns that are meant to sound as though the speaker is saying he/she or hers/his very quickly and in a condensed way. I’d like to emphasize first, that these are not limited to eclipsians, androgynes, or the male/masc- & female/fem-aligned; a person’s pronouns are not dictated by their gender, only what makes them most comfortable. I only mention these groups because I personally feel that my pronouns should be gendered. That’s just what feels right for me, but I don’t like limiting myself to either he/him or she/her. If there’s anyone else out there who feels the same way, I sincerely hope these pronouns come in handy.
So, without further ado, here are the two complete sets of pronouns:

S/he, herim, heris, heris, herimself
S/he is pronounced shuh-HE. The others are pronounced like you’re saying her/him, her/his, and her/himself, but with a “bouncier” sound that leaves out some of the h’s to make it flow together.

OR, alternatively:

H/she, himer, hiser, hisers, himerself
H/she is pronounced somewhat like hushie. The others are pronounced like you’re saying him/her, his/her, his/hers, and him/herself, but with a “bouncier” sound that leaves out some of the h’s to make it flow together.

I would rather not use shehe or heshe as pronouns, as these could be misconstrued as slurs, but obviously it’s up to the individual to decide what works best for them.
H/she and s/he are spelled with slashes to avoid this, but I’m open to ideas for alternative spellings.
If pronouns like these already exist, then I apologize for the unecessary redundancy. Just ignore this submission I guess.
Anyways, feedback is definitely appreciated. Thank you.

I think they sound great!

Hey! I didn’t see any egopanromantic (or sexual) flags on this page yet, so I submitted one myself! Egopanromantic means attraction to people with a similar personality as your own, regardless of gender. An egopanromantic individual experience a hard time maintaining a long lasting relationships with people with different personalities. (Please excuse my bad english, im self-taught :‘0)

Pronoun Non-conforming Pride Flag

image

PNC (pronouns nonconformity): people who use any non-standard pronouns (or simply not using standard pronouns).

This term includes:
– any person using neopronoun (ze, ve, ey, etc) or even they [nounself or nondual pronouns]
– binary or non-binary people who use both he and she (multipronouns)
– binary people who use an “unexpected” pronoun (crosspronouns): men using she/they/it and women using he/they/it (dissonant to your gender or just not aligning with the assigned pronouns at birth)
– people using variant sets of pronouns (varipronouns), such as she/zer/xyrself, he/hir/zimself, etc.
– people denoting themselves with emojiself pronominal usage
– people using binary pronouns as a result of having no other pronoun accessible/available in their language
– individuals using no kind of pronoun (nullpronouns)
– pronoun indifference (using any pronouns, uncaring about).

Terminology coined by @vitorrubiao, colors+stripes based on GNC (gender non-conformant) and neopronouns flags. Note that neopronouns can be also called neolanguage (neolinguistics), epicene, third-person, gender-neutral, nondualistic and nonbinary language, but it’s separated from PNC in the sense of including other concepts.
