arco-pluris:

Combining my sapatrans with transviade flags I introduced:

Sapatransviade Flag (bandeira sapatransviada)

Reintroducing these terms: sapatrans is a combination of sapatão (sapatona, sapatãe/sapatõe, sapata or sapatone) and trans(gender). Transviade (transviada/gem) trans/gender and viade [viada(gem), viad-/viadx, viado] meaning viated/versed.

Asynchronously they were spread after the censorship of the Queermuseu through academic articles and usage of these terms to talk about people’s childhood.

Even though sapa- and -viad- might share assimilationism with slurs like d and f words, some claim they are untranslatable and resignified. Transviado has unknown/dubious roots, such as deviate/transviate/transviant/deviant, transverse(d), trans deer/bambi/doe/hart/veal (veado/veade/veada)… Sapa- (she frog) meaning big shoe, tap dancer or sapphic…

Sapatransviade (neotralized sapatransviado specifically with -e) got popularized this non-binary awareness week, after the release of a live video transmission, which led to legislative motion of repudiation.

Binarists/exorsexists mocked it as the “queer megazord de lugares de fala” (of identity lanes).

I reclaim sapatransviadagem as a simultaneous identity of queerness, dissidence and nonbinarity. Also celebrating our first national nonbinary visibility and pride week.

I know once I identified myself as f*gd*ke in the past, but here’s an elaborated unlearning symmetry between the d word and sapa/zapa. While at the same time I’m able to reclaim viad- since often I got yelled in the streets (once as viadarada). I posted the f/d words together as an identity, but f word shares also fake connotation/denotation with marica/maricx/maricón and viadx/viad(y) too.

If you want to “translate” it to yourself as an anglophone/spanish/north-spheric/whatever alternative, try zapatransviad(e), zapatransviant. I think it’s fair for anyone and non-Brazilian peoples to self-determine themselves as zapatransviades and sapatransviades. – AP

Shadic: A gender with a strong connection to Slim Shady and intrusive thoughts caused by OCD- specifically more violent and/or sexual ones. Only for Slim Shady introjects, especially with OCD. Not a kin gender

Colors:

Red ~ Sexual intrusive thoughts

Black ~ Violent intrusive thoughts

Yellow ~ Being blonde (it’s hard to put into words, sorry)

Purple ~ A near God complex, seemingly misplaced sense of royalty, and grandiose sense of self worth

image

Slimic: A gender that’s similar to Shadic in its connection to Slim Shady. However, the connection to intrusive thoughts are less strong. Only for Slim Shady introjects. Not a kin gender

Colors:

Red ~ A connection to that one picture with dynamite (hard to put into words, sorry)

White ~ A connection to the old Jason-like mask era (again, hard to put into words)

Yellow ~ Being blonde (it’s hard to put into words, sorry)

Purple ~ A near God complex, seemingly misplaced sense of royalty, and grandiose sense of self worth

I’m sorry I had a hard time putting the explanation for some of the colors into words. They made sense in my head when I made the flags, it just didn’t translate from my head very well.

Aight, because of the info that has surfaced thanks to this post here, I’ve decided to try my hand at creating two lesbian flags that haven’t taken inspiration from any others for anything but the number of stripes, and the black and purple on the butch.

Kleptogamous Flag

image

Kleptogamy (klepto- ‘stealing’ + gamos ‘marriage’): dating or getting affectionally/relationally involved with a friend’s’ partner(s) or (an)other committed folk(s).

It’s also defined in biology as “a behavioral pattern in which males from outside a group, or lacking in status within the group or attractive characteristics, attempt to mate with females from the group, often by means of some deceptive/cheating/sneaking behavior”.

This posts description bases the concept of talarica(gem), but not essentially coviting. Note this can be a consensual relationship orientation as a form of nonmonoamory. – Ap

BTN Alt. Flags

Using the other two transneutral flags, mixing the ©AMAB/DMAB with ©AFAB/DFAB ones. Check the first ones and ©AGAB/DSAB/DGAB-free.

BTN(B)/B2N(B)/B2X/BTX: a transneutral or otherwise non-binary individual who considers emself as transitioning from binary to non-binary. Encompassing M2N(B)/M2X, F2X/F2N(B) and BtA(b)/B2A(b) (FtA(b)/MtA(b)/M2A(b)/F2A(b)) experiences.

Just a reminder that not all transneutrals were assigned/designated as binary at birth, some were intersex/©AXAB/DXAB [XtN(b)/X2N(b)/ItN(b)/I2N(b)/ItX/I2X] or consider themselves NBtNB/NB2NB/XTX/X2X/NTN/N2N. – Ap

Moze Pride Flag

image

Moze (a neolingual noun parallel with moza and mozo): a monolexical neolabel parallel with man and woman; the epicene/gender neutral of boy and girl; an abinary genderedness apart from male and female.

Cognate of moce/moçe (deriving moça/moço) and mozze (from mozzo/mozza). Mocidade (mozidad/mozity, mozeness/moceness) means youth. Since cedilla (ç) is often translated as zed/zee (z), as in Moçambique/Mozambique, because of its Visigothic origin (ꝣ).

In West Iberian the suffixes -o/-a do binarized gender inflection, so any other vowel/letter makes a neutralized declension. Just as in Latinx/Latine.

Alternate words: mozx, moz@, mozu, mozy, mozie, mozone, mozãe, mozane, mozæ/mozae, mozœ/mozoe, moz(s), muchache, muchachx.

Note this isn’t the same as enby, as enby is an abbreviation of nonbinary. Mozes could refer to generic people, such as in pals, however just as in folx, folks might use moze to be a specific non-binary identity. This identity is asynchronously and conceptually epin/nin/oin/abin/uin.

Omnigaybian Pride Flag

Omnigaybian: Gender-fluid, with one’s attraction to other genders changing with one’s gender(s) so that the individual is always a gaybian; the combination of omnigay and omnilesbian; an omnigay lesbian or a gay omnilesbian.

Alternate labels: omnigeisbian, omnigei(seric), omnigesbian, omnigheybian. Gaybian is a mix of gay and lesbian. Gay could mean queer, ultric/ultramoric, homo-/similar- or same-gender attracted, gay man/gayan, mlm/vincian/floric or simply unstraight/nonstraight, it’s up to self-interpretations.

In my case, I use omnigaybian for myself in the sense that I’m gendersublime, so that one part of my genders are static (not essentially solid/stable) and I’m always partly gay/lesbian (hence plurigender).

aquadgender: a genderness that is both agender and quadgender and/or somewhere between them; an identity mostly quadgender, but has a connection to genderlessness and/or agendered feelings. could also be called quxdgender, quadagender, or libraquadgender.

aoctagender: a genderness that is both agender and octagender and/or somewhere between them; an identity mostly octagender, but has a connection to genderlessness and/or agendered feelings. could also be called xctagender, octa-agender, or libraoctagender.

after making my abigender flags, i started thinking about the other numbered polygenders that don’t have flags, so i decided to make some! all flags are formatted like the pxngender flag with colors that correspond to their respective flags, adjusted for visibility and flow. septagender (having seven genders) has no flag, so i had to leave that one out, and nothing above octagender has a flag to my knowledge. also, some of the alt terms may look odd (i’m personally fond of ‘xctagender’), but i wanted to lay out all the options anyways!

I think you might be relating these terms to libra- in the opposite way. Libragenders are mostly agender with a connections to other genders/gendered feelings. Libratrigender, more specifically, is a connection to trigenderness (or a gender encompassing three libragenders), rather than being mostly trigender with a connection to ageninity/genderlessness.

libragender doesn’t fit the second definitions of these, no, but it can fit the first! ‘a genderness that is both agender and [other gender] and/or somewhere between them’ does include libragender, as it doesn’t specify which genderness is felt more strongly and therefore can apply to someone who is mostly agender and partially tri/quad/etcgender. also, i included it as an alternate term because the pxngender coining post used it as a potential term.

I corrected the post after panlibragender popped up and get our accounts back after being terminated. Intrapersonally for me it’s hard to distinguish all that since I’m pandemiagender/panademigender/apandemigender/ademipangender/demiapangender/demipanagender (demipxngender/pxndemigender), I’m likely genderflux between magiagender and nanoagender/nanagender/nan0agender/nan4gender/nanxgender/ananogender/anan0gender/pixelagender/apixelgender. – Ap

flag redesign! this is for the term “escapigender” which means, “a gender that changes when experiencing escapism/maladaptive daydreams, or the lack/gain of a gender during. this definition is for people with maladaptive daydream/dissociative disorder or escapism only!” the term was coined by an anon over on @beyond-mogai-pride-flags

i didn’t like the og flag at all, but i Very Much relate to this terms so! color meanings are as follows:

yellow – unaligned, or general nonbinary gender

pink – female or feminine gender

grey – foggy or “grey” gender or gender experiences caused by dissociation and maladaptive daydreaming

white – clarity of gender caused by the concentrated experience of maladaptive daydreaming

blue – male or masculine

green – neutral or xenic gender

the colors are in-between being bright and pastel, to reflect real life being washed-out and distorted, while paras become more clear and understandable!

Irrexian

guiltyidealist:

guiltyidealist:

guiltyidealist:

I’m coining another queer thing.

Irrexian (“ear-EHX-ee-in”): an adjective to be used by mspecs whose attraction completely disregards gender

> Only applicable to mspecs (biromantics, pansexuals, etc), obviously
> Not applicable to all mspecs
> Can be used for any kind of attraction
> Derived from “irrespective,” which means “regardless”
> Noun version: irrix (“EAR-ihx”)

It’s meant to replace “genderblind” because (1) it’s ableist and (2) it implies that you don’t see gender, which is plain wrong. “Irrexian,” however, is specific to attraction for those whose attraction, like my own, gives no shits about gender! An irrexian person could be attracted to women, men, and nonbins because gender doesn’t affect their chance of attraction to a person.

It’s worth noting that pan people can have preferences, despite the common definition being “attracted to anyone regardless of their gender”. This term helps to differentiate between mspecs with preferences and mspecs with no preferences.

Examples of use:

~ I’m an irrexian bisexual.
~ Xe is a panromantic irrix.
~ I don’t know what label I should use… all I know is that I’m irrexian!

Below is the flag!

Alternative Alterous Attraction Flags
I’ve heard from many folks on the alterous spectrum that they don’t find the two mainstream alt flags visually appealing (and personally I agree), so I’ve designed some of my own flags! I couldn’t settle on a single design so I am uploading all four. My intention isn’t to replace the mainstream flags but to give alterous folks more options ♥

Colour Meanings
blue: alterous attraction
yellow: platonic

attraction

pink: queerplatonic/aesthetic

attraction

red: romantic

attraction

meet fluoxegender, a term i coined! this is the flag i made for it.

it is defined as a unifying term for neurogenders based on disorders that are treated with antidepressants.

for example, a neurogender, or any other trans or non binary person who experience their gender differently because of either their antidepressants, or the disorder for which they are needed.

feel free to use the flag but make sure to credit me!

hey @beyond-mogai-pride-flags sorry for the ping but i dont think you guys have seen this yet?!

Hibernigender: a gender identity that seems to hibernate during the winter. (e.x. identifying as feminine for the year until winter then feeling a lack of or absence of gender)

Can be used in the sense of Hibernigirl, Hiberniboy, Hibernienby, etc.

Hiberni coming from the Latin singular for Hibernar meaning “to hibernate.”

Flag: The colors have meaning. Pale pink for spring, pale green for summer, and pale orange for autumn when the gender is “active.” White for the absence of gender, and dark blue for winter when the gender is absent or “hibernating.”

Gayan Pride Flag

image

Gayanity/gayanhood/gayanness: a term that has the same meaning as “gay” in “gay man” just as “lesbian” has in “lesbian woman”.

Some gayans are not man, some are man-aligned non-binary, some are not mlm, some are not “gay for men”, some are not attracted to binary men, some are nonaligned or abinary.

This doesn’t represent every gay person, this label has “floric roots” (non-woman loving non-women), just as lesbian has “faunic” ones (non-man loving non-men).

Gay has other words in some languages: guei, gey, gei, gej, gan, guey, ghey, gaey, yag. Gaybo, homomie(s), geyo and gaymie(s) are synonyms of gay manhood. I like to see myself as gay-aligned.

This is almost like an inverted rainbow flag recolor, but I tried to base on the inclusive lesbian flag by @bi-lesbian – AP

mogiistimmy:

lacusgender – a gender relating to lakes and algae, a gender that feels like the flow of seaweed on a lake floor

🌊

(lacus coming from the Latin root of lake)

Massive Altersex Post

plurgai:

Since there’s a lot of Altersex terms, and not many are readily available to find, AND we’re manic, here’s a massive Altersex post with definitions and flags (though not every term has a flag)!

If I missed anything, or a flag, just shoot a DM and I’ll fix it.

——-

Altersex : A person who is not intersex, but for some other reason does not fit the male/female sex binary. Also covers fantasy “intersex” in media.

image

Angenital : A desire to be without sex characteristics. Does not correspond to any particular gender, and does not require any corresponding feeling of genderlessness.

image

Apagenital : When one feels apathetic to the genital set they have or don’t care what they would have.

(aka Inersgenital, or Anvisgenital)

image

Aphrodisian : People who wish to have a mixed genital set (such as a penis and a vagina, or something in between), regardless of gender. Explicitly includes secondary sex characteristics. (An alternative for Salmacian, since that one is named after a r/pist in Greek Mythology. Also known as Bigenital.)

image
image

Salmacian Flag :

image

Apothigenital : Describing repulsion by having any genitalia.

image

Bissex :

Having two or more sexes, or conceptualizing yourself with a mixture of two or more sexes. These don’t have to be penile vulvarian- they can also be xeno, fauna, etc. They also don’t have to be super distinct, and can be similar.

image

Cassgenital : Where one feels that their genital arrangement is unimportant or is indifferent to the idea of having genitalia.

image

Faunagenital : An identity in which you feel less dysphoric by conceptualizing your genitalia as non-human, but terrestrial and animalistic. (aka Animagenital)

Faunasex : Similar to faunagenital, but the entirety of your sex and not just your genitalia.

image

Genitalfluid : When your ideal genitals vary at different times. (aka Pergenital/fluigenital/abrogenita)

Genitalflux : Fluctuating between angenital and non-angenital. (aka Flexgenital/fluxgenital/flexigenital)

Genitally Dysphoric : Discomfort, confliction or distress with one’s genital sex. Not always external, and secondary sex characteristics also count.

image

M-Altguina : An AMAB man with either dysphoria about not having a vagina, or simply wants one due to the idea of having one being euphoric. Coined with Cisgender Transsex people in mind, but AMAB nonbinary men can use this too.

image

M-Altpect : An AMAB man with either dysphoria about not having breasts, or simply wants them due to the idea of having them being euphoric.

Coined with Cisgender Transsex people in mind, but AMAB nonbinary men can use this too.

image

image

Parsex : An umbrella term for every intersex and altersex condition (being non perisex).

image

Protosex : The opposite of altersex.

Sex Questioning : A process of exploration by people who may be unsure, still exploring, and concerned about applying a sex label to themselves for various reasons. Applies to more than just genital.

image

image

Systemsex : An umbrella term for members of a system with atypical sex characteristics (intersex in a perisex/altersex body, xenogenitalia, etc). All sex characteristics count under this umbrella.

Thirdsex : Commonly used to denote an “other” sex category beyond “m” or “f” (of male or female) in documents for example. In some passports they don’t categorize “third-gender” but instead “sex”. Denoting someone who is not dyadic, while not essentially intersex, hence may be classified as altersex.

image

TM-Altguina : An AFAB man with either dysphoria about not having a vagina, or simply wants to keep it out of euphoria. A trans male whose ideal and wanted body includes having a vagina. Alphabet Soup Pride Flag

image

In linguistics alphabet soup is a metaphor for an abundance of abbreviations or acronyms, named for a common dish made from alphabet pasta. When it comes to LGBTQIA+ acronym variations or iterations and alternative initials, bigots try to mock them as soup cans or abecedaries, however, there are folx reclaiming this, some of them find term more inclusive than any other variant, resulting in some pals identifying as “alphabet people”, likely “rainbow person” and “queer community” rather than “XYZ folk” or “QUILTBAG individuals”, as in one word they could express their identity/sexuality/gender, presentation/expression, orientation, sex/variance/nonconformity, relationships or diverse forms of self-identification and self-determination.

This is not meant to poke fun at anyone, but you can use this flag in a non-serious way if you want. -Ap

neopronouns:

ay: being both not alloromantic and not allosexual; a term for non-sam aro(spec)ace(spec)s

@wavership asked me to try my hand at redesigning the ay flag! these are probably far from perfect, so i’m absolutely open to suggestions from other ay folks.

the first flag is based on the typical aroace combo flag. the second and third are based partly on @aroaesflags‘ aroace design, and both have five stripes for similarity to aro flag and the gray/black stripes on the top for similarity to the ace flag. the third flag has an extra blue stripe rather than the white one because the original ay flag design has no white stripe.

Here’s the original design btw. I loved the last one. – Ap

Hey there! Sorry if I’m asking inside the submit box, it seems that I couldn’t access the ask box for some reason. My question is, if I want to specify the neither part of ambonec to be agender/genderless/no gender, can I use the term Ambonique? I feel that I am male, female, and agender at the same time. I feel that “ambonec” doesn’t specify what “neither” is, while I want to be clear that my “neither” part is genderless/none. Thank you, and have a good day! (P. S. I really really love the ambonique flag, please don’t tell me to choose another label if you can :3)

——–

Yeah, that sounds about right for what the definition of Ambonique is, so I see no reason why you wouldn’t be able to use it. 🙂

Is there an orientation that’s basically the attraction to Xenogender people? If not, do you think you can make a flag for it, please?

This is my submission for “Trans Non-Conforming” (I couldn’t find a better name, ahh-)
I feel a bit silly submitting this since I just saw the Transmasc woman flag, but I hope it’s alright.

“Trans Non-Conforming” is an identity in which the individual is transitioning but in a way that traditionally wouldn’t align with their gender (like gender non-conformity but on a physical level). So for example someone who identifies as a woman but is taking testosterone, getting top surgery etc. I suppose this could also include trans people comfortable with not getting certain surgeries though that isn’t part of my personal experience.

This is a flag made to be proud not to fit in the traditional binary or public expectation, can be used for enbies proud not to fit into the androgynous stereotype.This flag is also inclusive of people who may be TNC but without experiencing dysphoria. What I mean is, that this flag is for those who do not conform to their gender’s typical expectations on a deeper level than gender expression, and being proud of it.

Now for color meanings!

Dark Blue – Experiencing/Living with dysphoria
Light Blue – Masculinity
Yellow – Non-Binary Identities
Orange – Defying Expectation
Hot Pink – Femininity
Dark Red – Not experiencing dysphoria

(Sorry if I got rambly! Please suggest a better name for this if there is one.)

Oh hey, that’s actually really awesome! Thanks so much for the submission!

-parental attraction

Parental attraction is when you feel the desire to raise a child with someone. This kind of attraction can sometimes be encompassed by other attractions such as romantic but I found myself feeling this way with no other kind of attraction so I decided to make a term for it. Note that this is specifically wanting to raise a child not just have one with them. The desire is to coparent a child together not just bring one into the world. You can desire to raise a adopted or biological child.

Name for a parental crush: Prash/prush

Name for a parental relationship: parenthood

Name for parental partner: coparent

Like all attraction types prefixes can be added to specify who/what you’re attracted to e.g hetparental, homoparental, biparental. I myself am panparental.

Colour meanings

Yellow- Childish and carelessness of children

Dark blue- the trust and loyalty needed for a healthy parenthood.

Pink- the pasion and love you feel towards your coparent and the child you raise together.

——–

Ah! That’s a really great term! Thanks for the submission. 😀

Transmasculine Woman Pride Flag

image
  • Transmasculinity: a term used to describe trans people who identify with masculinity to a greater extent than with femininity.
  • Womanhood: describing the quality of being a woman.

I could also call this flag as FtM/F2M/M2M/MtM girl, describing polygender and multigender (specially am/bigender) folks. This isn’t the same as being a masculine trans gal though. This has to do with women having gender masculinity (e.g. mingender) who are also transgender. – A.P.

Transfeminine Man Pride Flag

image
  • Transfemininity: a term used to describe trans people who identify with femininity to a greater extent than with masculinity.
  • (Wer)Manhood: describing the quality of being a (wer)man.

I could also call this flag as MtF/M2F boy or FtF/F2F dude, describing polygender and multigender (specially am/bigender) folks. This isn’t the same as being a feminine trans guy though. This has to do with (wer)men having gender femininity (i.e. fingender) who are also transgender (femman/femmen/femboy, femguy/femen/femdude/femidude/femiguy/femiboy/femiman/femimen). – A.P.

Neutgender Pride flag

Neutgender flag

Neutgender – when you prefer to go by it/its/itself pronouns instead of they/them (since It hints having a gender of some sort instead of none) as a way to express being completely neutral and/or disconected from humans/others.

term coined and falg made by : @wingsdownmyspine

demiNeut

(Bonus)DemiNeut – identifying partially as Neut and partially as something else.

Very nice terms! Unfortunately, I think both flags look too similar to other ones already in use (the first one, at least, looks just like the asocial flag). Sorry about that!

can I add a new sexuality and gender?

-temposexual-

Feeling a strong attraction to someone, romantic and/or sexual, before the feeling fades for someone else or for no one for a while. This term can be used for fictosexuals and others as well.

Example: loving someone for 2 months, and then feeling for someone else pops up and you like that person for a while before moving on and/or going back to the original person. This is something I personally identify with and it’s too long to ask for on Google or something.

Pride flag scheme can be anything based on time or quickness!

_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_

-confem-

Someone confused on their gender, but strongly leaning toward the female pronouns/identity

They/them or she/her pronouns are associated with this gender.

Pride flag can consist of anything related to non-binary or female, or both

Please message me if you do this! This is simply a request, and I am new to Tumblr!

Thank you! 🙂

i-cant-even-hiss:

So I attemped to make audiosexual and audioromantic flags!

The red/orange one is for deeper voices, Bass tones are reds-yellow shades on the frequency spectrum.

And the blue one is for higher voices which are green-blue shades on the frequency spectrum.

What do you think?

Those are some great flags! However, we did not coin the term Audio-. The earliest I recall seeing it was when it had been submitted to the long since defunct blog mogai-archive. Just wanted to clear that up. 🙂

genderfleur:

genderfleur:

Coining a term!!

Evari: a a fluctuating gender relating to spring seasons and spring specific flowers (usually in connotation to cherry blossoms and Japanese spring season). This gender usually feels more strong and prevelant around spring, and slowly fades out during the other seasons.

Evariboy: a fluctuating but masculine aligned gender relating to spring seasons and spring specific flowers (usually in connotation to cherry blossoms and Japanese spring season). This gender usually feels more strong and prevelant around spring, and slowly fades out during the other seasons.

Evarigirl: a fluctuating but feminine gender relating to spring seasons and spring specific flowers (usually in connotation to cherry blossoms and Japanese spring season). This gender usually feels more strong and prevelant around spring, and slowly fades out during the other seasons.

~~~~~~~~
Note: I drew inspiration from both Genderfluer and springgender to create this term as well as the flags! Enjoy and use as you’d like!! Planning on making pronoun sets to go with!
*i made these terms and these flags myself, I do not intend for them to look similar to other flags.*
Lesbihet Pride Flags!
Basing in my bihet flags, I combined them with the lesbi- (bi lesbian) flag. It could mean solidarity between bi lesbians and those who identifies as bihets or even an identity for being both things. I hope @bi-lesbian don’t mind. ~ Mod. A.P
Gay Nonbinary Pride Flag
image
Gay Non-binary: describing folks that are not binary, while they are attracted to people who are not binary; individuals who are gay for non-binaries; or nonbinaries that are not attracted to binaries.
This should be said: gay nonbinary is separated from what folx idealize as “nonbinary gay man”, while both can exist, one is dissimilar/different from each other. Gayness has polysemy – variety of meaning.
Not essentially the same as enbian/cypric (nblnb/nln).  See also: neutric, enboric, cetero-/skolio-/escolio-/scolio-, diamoric, nonbian/nonbinarian, arbinale. – AP
Gay Nonwoman Pride Flag
image
Gay Non-woman: describing folks that are not women, while they are attracted to people who are not woman; individuals who are gay for non-women; or nonwomen that are not attracted to women.
See also: floric, gay man, enbian/cypric, vincian/achillean, nofemaric, opalian. – AP
Gay Nonman Pride Flag
image
Gay Non-man: describing folks that are not men, while they are attracted to people who are not man; individuals who are gay for non-men; or nonmen that are not attracted to men.
See also: gay woman, faunic/daunic, sapphic, enbian/cypric, iridian, nomascic. – AP
Transgender Congruent Pride Flag
image
Transgender Congruence: describing trans individuals feeling genuine, authentic and comfortable with their gender identity and external appearance.
It’s the most updated term equivalent to gender euphoria for transgender folks feeling happy and satisfied with their body image, externally and internally (corporeally and immaterially).
Transgender congruity/congruency has to do with being gender disconnected (having a disconnection/disconnect between one’s gender/sex assigned at birth and their actual gender), however when using “gender congruence” alone, this could encompass cis and gender connected individuals.
Term source. – AP
Transex Pride Flag
image
Transex (transsex, transexed or transsexed): a term referring to sex labels, equivalent to transexual/transsexual and transgender, but not all transex people identify as transexuals or transgender, they label their sex as trans and go for it. This is also an umbrella term for sex labels, such as transgenital, transgonadal and many others (transcorporeal, transmental, transpsychic…). The usage could be similar to altersex, but this might not represent what transex means, since it’s been more used through history.
Definition: transcending one’s biosex or brain sex; denoting or relating to a person whose sense of sex identity or biossex does not correspond with their birth sex.
~ mod a-p
Exogamous/Exoamorous Flag
Exogamy/Exoamory: the custom of marrying/dating outside one’s social group/unit (community, clan or tribe).
– Mod AP
The Gender Census 2020 is now open!
gendercensus:
gendercensus:
[ Link ]
The seventh annual international gender census, collecting information about the language we use to refer to ourselves and each other, is now open until 12th March 2020.
After the survey is closed I’ll process the results and publish a spreadsheet of the data and a blog post summarising the main findings. Then anyone can use them for academic or business purposes, self-advocacy, tracking the popularity of language over time, and just feeling like we’re part of a huge and diverse community.
If you think you might have friends and followers who’d be interested, please do reblog this blog post, retweet this tweet, boost this Mastodon post, check out this post on Reddit, and share the survey URL by email or at AFK social groups or on other social networks like Facebook. Every share is extremely helpful – it’s what helped us get 11,000 responses last year.
Survey URL: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/gendercensus2020/
The survey is open to anyone anywhere who speaks English and feels that the gender binary doesn’t fully describe their experience of themselves and their gender(s) or lack thereof.
Thank you so much!
The survey has been open a little over 3 hours now, and there are almost 1,000 participants! So good, thank you everyone!
I will check in tomorrow morning, hopefully set up some queued promotional posts, and until then… BOOOOOOOST 🚀
Boost!
Transformist Pride Flag
I saw some articles and people using this as a way to draw a line between cross-dressing and drag (monarch, queer, queen, quing or feather), a form of self-identification but also a gender expression and presentation term. So it’s basically an identity too. I could call it transmorphic too. -AP
Masc Folk Pride Flag
image
Masc: a gender qualifier, determiner or modifier of masculine people, indicating that masc folx might encompass more folks than just men or masculinity in general, in the sense it’s an alternative word but also more inclusive than just man while not essentially that. Some mascs identify as butch or bear for a queer gender expression or presentation but some others don’t. A masc person as a gender quality may be an identity, presentation, alignment or anything related to gender experiences. Could be a category/classification for gay men and masc-aligned non-binaries, for example. Can describe a mingender, a miagender or a m-gender, but also a nonman.
– AP
Fem Folk Pride Flag
image
Fem: some people identify as a fem folk for any reason. Some fems identify as femmes or feminines but some others don’t. Fem person in this case may denote an alternative word other than man and woman, while this gender quality may be an identity, presentation, alignment, expression or anything related to gender experiences. For example, a fem bisexual might express the same gender as a lesbian would do in a simple word, because a fem is a qualifier or a modifier describing a gender-like category/classification, just as fem-aligned. Could also describe an abbreviation of female, a fiagender, a fingender or an f-gender.
Gyne-curious Pride Flag
image
Gyne-curiosity: being primarily nofemaric (not attracted to women) but showing interest in women for any reason; wishing or considering to experiment sexual/sensual or romantic/affectional/platonic relations with women but you usually don’t feel attracted to them.
 The individual may be anattractional, mascic (attracted to men) &/or enboric (attraction to non-binary people).
Also known as gyno-curious, gyneco-curious, gine-curious, gineco-curious and gino-curious.
– AP
Andro-curious Pride Flag
image
Andro-curiosity: being primarily nomascic (not attracted to men) but showing interest in men for any reason; wishing or considering to experiment sexual/sensual or romantic/affectional/platonic relations with men but you usually don’t feel attracted to them.
The individual may be anattractional, femaric (attracted to women) &/or enboric (attraction to non-binary people).
i had some ideas for flags that might represent mspec lesbians and pan lesbians, inspired by the bi lesbian (by @starfaerry), panmultiomni, aspec-mspec, mspec, sapphic, the grey/pink/purple/blue lesbian flag, and panromantic flags! click for larger images.
color meanings for my idea for an mspec lesbian flag: the shades of pink, purple, and blue are shared to some degree by the bi-, pan-, polysexual, polyromantic, and omni- flags. i’ll be honest, this design began as a concept for a pan lesbian flag (which is why the middle 3 stripes feature the pan flag) but i feel like it could work for all mspec lesbians
  • deep purple – femme mspec lesbians
  • violet – lesbian love, violets; a symbol of identity between lesbians
  • hot pink – unique personal relationship to femininity
  • yellow – unique personal relationship to androgyny
  • light blue – unique personal relationship to masculinity
  • light blue-green – nonbinary mspec lesbians
  • jade green – butch mspec lesbians
color meanings for a pan lesbian flag concept: this one borrows a lot from the sapphic lesbian flag and the panromantic flag and retains some of the meanings (sapphic love, strength and healing) while discarding ‘fragility’.
  • violet – lesbian and sapphic love
  • hot pink – femme lesbians
  • orange – butch lesbians
  • goldenrod – nonbinary lesbians
  • aqua blue – unique personal relationships with gender and attraction
  • blue-green – community and support
Genitally Dysphoric Flag
varsex-pride:
Genital dysphoria: discomfort, confliction or distress with one’s genital sex, sometimes also gonadal and other secondary/phenotypic sex characteristics, not always external.
It’s also known as genital dysmorphia when it’s not caused by a mismatch or disconnect between the biological/body/corporeal sex and gender identity, however people use the term this way even though they are not essentially gender dysphoric or transgender.
– AP
Species Dysphoric Flag
kin-flags:
Species Dysphoria: a condition in which a person feels that their body is of the wrong species. Many with this condition believe it is because their external body does not reflect their inner identity. As a result of this, the person may feel discomfort, confliction or confusion.
This is not essentially species dysmorphism/dysmorphia, because dysphoria has to do with identity too. Not all species dysphorix are transspecies though, and vice-versa.
Ambiverted Flag
image
Ambiversion: defining a person whose personality has a balance of both extrovert and introvert typical features; falling more or less directly in the middle, moderately comfortable with interpersonal groups and social interaction, but also relishes time alone, away from a crowd; an ambivert changes behaviour according to the situation they are in.
~AP
Extraverted Flag
Extraversion: denoting an outgoing, overtly expressive and sociable person predominantly concerned with external things or objective considerations, with a more talkative, enthusiastic, assertive, gregarious and energetic behavior, an attitude-type characterised by concentration of interest on the external object or gratification and mental outside oneself.
Also known as extroversion, extrovert, extravert and extroverted. And before anyone say, I know this is not a sexuality, but as an asocial extravert, my extraversion is like being polyamorous or a polyaffectionate somehow. I also enjoy making flags. – AP
Introverted Flag
Introversion: describing a shy, reticent and reflective person predominantly concerned with their own self, thoughts and feelings rather than with external things, attitude-type characterized by orientation in life through subjective psychic contents, manifested in more reserved and solitary behavior.
Also called introvert, intravert, intraverted and intraversion. And before anyone say, I know this is not a sexuality, but as an asocial extravert, my extraversion is like polyamory or a polyaffectionacy somehow, so this might be useful for those whose sexuality or romanticity is undefined or null (or a void-). – AP
Joy Pride Flag
Joy: an alternative for enby (plus boy and girl). It comes from joyfriend (a non-binary datemate/datefriend/significant other) comparable to boyfriend and girlfriend (plus enbyfriend and theyfriend).
Alternate labels: jirl/jenby/jal/nirl/juy/nuy.
Euagender Pride Flag
image
Eugenderless/Euagender (eugender + agender): an absolute genderlessness, agenderness or gender nullity.
Absolute does not essentially mean complete or total, it’s synonymous to affirmative in this case, as not opposed to genders (as in ungender and panantigender).
Using colors from a flag stamp by @queerflagswithbenton – Ap.
Genderfluent Pride Flag
image
Genderfluency/Genderfluence: someone whose gender is easily able to flow (change or fluctuate) freely; a gender moving along or out steadily and continuously in a current or stream; when genders go from one place to another in a steady stream, typically in large numbers; the amplusian combination of genderfree and genderfluid (genderflux or genderflow).
Using neutrois in the middle mixed with genderfluid flag. Genderfluent is the adjective, could be also called freefluid or fluidfree (just as fluidflux). [Image: 5 stripes of pink, white, green, black and blue] – Ap
Abinary: being completely outside the gender binary.
Midbinary: referencing gender binary.
Trivestic Pride Flag
image
Trivesticity or Trivestility: relating to trivesting; dressing three genders; wearing clothes associated with three genders; trigender passing or presentation.
Other synonyms: trivestite, trivesti. Using colors from original trivestic flag with transvestic flag format. – Ap
Transxenine Pride Flag
image
Transxeninity: a term used to describe trans people identifying with xenine gendered feelings to a greater extent than with femininity or masculinity. They usually are nonbinary but could be trans men or trans women.
Similar to transneutral but it’s xenine instead. – Ap
Overmasc Maverique Pride Flag
Overmasc: the masc equivalent of overfem; transcending and overflowing masculinity without approaching femininity.
Maveriquinity: characterized by autonomy and inner conviction regarding a sense of self that is entirely independent of male, female or anything which derives from the two while still being neither without gender nor of a neutral gender.
furious-fluidflux-for-positivity:
If there’s one lesson I could spread to all questioning people, it would be that labels won’t always give you some magical rush of happiness when you find one that fits. I know a lot of us have that sort of experience, and that’s great! But labels aren’t always like that.
Sometimes you think you might fit a label, but when you start identifying as it, you may be unsure or a bit uneasy. You might grow into the label, or you might not! You tried it out and found out more about yourself, and that’s the important part. I had this experience personally with the transgender label; I was a tiny bit uncomfortable with it when I first tried the label out, but since then it’s grown to be part of my identity, and I’m proud to be trans.
Sometimes, you may realize something fits you, but discovering that part of yourself doesn’t feel like some great big thing. You may not connect with the community. It may just be something mildly interesting, but that you don’t really care about. I’ve felt this with my aro label and the aro community, and let me tell you that this is perfectly fine and normal! Not everyone feels a rush of happiness (or fear) when beginning to identify as something. Neutrality is as normal a response to new labels as anything else is.
When trying out a new label:
  • You may not feel any different
  • You may not feel connected to the community
  • You may feel worried about being a “faker”
  • You may feel uncomfortable for a short while
  • You may not get any strong feelings on the matter
  • You may not feel like something “clicked” for you.
And none of these necessarily mean that that label is wrong for you!
Discovering your identity isn’t some magical journey to a fairy-tale ending. Other people’s stories and experiences may make it seem that way, but I promise you this: there’s no wrong way to question or explore labels.
I wish all you questioning peeps good luck with your self-discovery!
Important reminder. Questioning folks are valid as heaven. Much love for y’alls. ~ A-P
Dissident Identity Flag
Dissidence/Dissent: a person who opposes official conformancy and/or protest against the structurally stablished conformism/conformance/conformity.
An artivist contact for mine use this to contemplate identities in TQIAPNB+ (travestigender, queer/questioning, intersex, aro/ace/agender/androgyne, pan/ply/plurian/polygender and nonbinary), specifically, but some people may cover the LGBTQIAPN+ entirely or even beyond too.
